Old RR grade. Mix of paved and gravel surfaces. Paved from Waterloo to the bridge over the Cedar River just south of La Porte City and for about 13 miles North out Hiawatha. Numerous benches and rest areas along the trail.
There are several trail heads along the length of the trail in Waterloo, Hiawatha, La Porte City, Center Point and Brandon
